Training Philosophy
All in This Together
The Balanced Athlete training program is really a group effort. It doesn't matter at what stage a hockey player is in their career, as long as we're all on the same sheet of ice together, we share one goal: to push each other every day to improve. Whether it is a high school player looking to make the jump from JV to Varsity, or a C-level player looking to improve to a B-level or one day A-level player, or myself playing my fifth season of professional hockey looking to play at the highest level possible. I believe that fully participating in the program with the youth, high school, and junior players is the best way to demonstrate drills, offer instruction, and create the team spirit I strive to build each day of training. While the degrees of mastery of each drill or exercise will differ in every player, the degrees of improvement will coincide as long as we all share the same commitment. I believe this collective commitment is best achieved by everyone showing up each day and encouraging each other.
